Content Marketing Isn’t An Overnight Success.
You will not get a million visitors and clients knocking down your door after you post one article. Content marketing takes time to grow, bring in traffic, and connect you with opportunities. Create a cadence you can follow, and keep going at it.
Think About Conversions
Conversion matters. If your conversions are lower than you like, you need to ask why. For example, maybe you are attracting the wrong audience with your content creation. Figure out how many people visit critical pages like your hire me page. How many people fill out a contact form from there? You cannot expect that 100% of the people who visit that page will contact you, but you should strive for higher conversions.
Consider Low-Value Offers
You should also consider creating a low-value offer for all the people you will attract via content marketing. This may be an offer that requires their email address or a small amount of money (think $10-$25.) The purpose of this low-value offer is to get people to a place where they can afford your one-on-one services. You shouldn’t have to field a million discovery calls to see if you are for them. Instead, give them something they can buy or opt into that gets them on your level.
